Neighborhood feedback is extremely important in determining whether this project will receive approval from the City of Charleston. It has been defeated many times in the past, but we must continue to fight. Stay tuned for more information.
Background:
A developer has relocated the historic home at formerly at 15 Radcliffe Street and proposed building a five story parking garage that will occupy the corner of St. Philip and Radcliffe Streets in the vacant lot that now exists after the move.
We discussed this proposed development, collected neighbor feedback and our community response at the Emergency Neighborhood Association meeting November 16, 2022. Please see the Meeting Minutes page for details. A second vote was held January 20th, 2023. Both times, neighbors voted to accept the house move in order to save it, as long as its preservation plan was followed.
